A university project involved me celebrating a craft of my choice. I've always found people who are brilliant with a brush to be a delight.

 

The artist I chose to celebrate was Liam Dobson, a painter based in Edinburgh. I travelled and documented my visit, collecting imagery and video. In line with the brief, Dobson was happy enough paint live at his stall, documenting the process of his iconic thistle. 

 

Collating all my data together and observing Dobson as an artist, I thought the best way to celebrate him and his craft, would be through a rebrand. This involved, stall banner, business cards, website and a promotional video to follow. 

 

Dobson is known for his Highland Stags, with this I knew how to visualise him through the branding. By looking at the simplistic style of typeface in his promotion dates, this give me a idea on how to approach the brief.
